Known for her approachable demeanor, STLwinegirl Angela Ortmann is taking her knack and popularity for food and wine pairing to the next level with “The Traveling Table: A Pairing Journey with STLwinegirl,” a first-of-its-kind series of intimate wine pairing dinners at local restaurants.

STLwinegirl is offering you an intimate dining experience with your own personal sommelier at the table. She will be joining guests at the table, in dinner party fashion and along with each course and pairing, will lead discussions and answer questions about general wine tasting, menus, wine lists, restaurant wine etiquette, pairing suggestions and more.

This TABLE will be at Mai Lee, a St. Louis gem for Vietnamese cuisine as well as what is often considered to be the BEST wine list at a local Asian restaurant. We will enjoy an variety of specialty dishes with wine pairings chosen by STLwinegirl.

Tickets are inclusive of food, wine, tax and gratuity - purchase now and be free from a dinner bill the night of the event. Other food or drinks purchases will be the responsibility of the guest.

About Mai Lee:

After escaping a war torn Vietnam in 1980 with and her husband and young son, Lee Tran I waitressed at various chinese restaurants around St. Louis to help make ends meet for their young family. Pursuing the American dream led her to opening Mai Lee Restaurant in 1985 with a full chinese menu. To honor her heritage, she slowly added Vietnamese dishes to the menu of the then tiny 6 table restaurant. To everyone's delight, customers welcomed the additions enthusiatically and now Mai Lee is regarded as the very first Vietnamese restaurant in St. Louis.It has been over 20 years and although the restaurant has moved from its original location, it is still a family affair. It is a privilege for Lee, her husband, Sau, and their children, Qui, Sara, and Linda to welcome you to Mai Lee Restaurant.
